The true hardware address of a device is concealed by a generated, temporary address that rotates at set intervals or upon network disconnections. This functionality aims to limit the ability of network operators and other entities to persistently identify and track a device’s movements based on its unique hardware identifier.
The adoption of this feature is significant due to increasing concerns about user data collection and surveillance.
